Tracy + Brad - Cactus & Coast Photography

Sweetheart Session // Downtown McKinney

March 28, 2017

It's easy to think that sweetheart sessions and couples sessions are only for the engaged or newlyweds out there, but I love it the most when husbands and wives who have been married for years want to get in front of the camera. Brad and Tracy are a beautiful example of what a real and lasting love looks like. The two are high school sweethearts (how romantic!!), and they will be celebrating 23 years of marriage this coming June.

My favorite part of this session was watching the way Brad looks at Tracy. It wasn't just with a smile, but he looked at her as if he was falling in love with her all over again, every single time. They joked, they laughed, they cuddled, and we had the best time meandering the streets of downtown McKinney.

It was a blessing to photograph these to love birds, and I hope you are all inspired just as I was.

What do you love the most about each other? What I love most about him is the way he loves me. He loves how she thinks about everything and seems to always to be on top of everything.

What is your favorite thing to do together? We love to take care of our home.....it is our haven.

Any random facts about you both?  Our favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.

Any words wisdom for any couples out there just starting out in marriage? Find a strong church to belong to that encourages growing in your relationship with God, encourages living in community, teaches conflict resolution and accountability. Know that each of you are going to bring baggage into the relationship. Unpack it early and work every day with it so you minimize its effect on your marriage and children. Hang in there and stay with it for the long haul. It is not a sprint but more of a journey together. There are highs and lows in every marriage. Just ride the wave and stay in for the long haul.
